Our goal is to support each and every child’s desire to be life-long learners. We are committed to providing a safe, developmentally appropriate environment for all our preschool students. Meadowlark’s focus is to provide a stimulating early childhood educational experience which encourages each child’s social/emotional, physical and cognitive development. We want to stretch their imagination, and most of all have fun. This is the age to provide the love of learning.

Children are our future. It is so enjoyable to watch the magic in their eyes. Every child is different and has so much potential, they look to us as adults to help guide and maintain that happiness. Help them develop the strong qualities of CONFIDENCE, KINDNESS, and RESPECT. Loving and focusing on the positive, in everything they do, is critical in developing a confident child. Boosting their self esteem is very important.

I have worked with children all my life, in various ways. I have spent numerous summers working in daycares, as well as volunteering my time to schools all throughout my life, to working as an assistant director of an extended day program at a charter school and substituting. I have been an active part of my son’s education and volunteering in his classroom since Kindergarten. I have worked with different kinds of children throughout, which has diversified me in the knowledge of all children, from different cultures, backgrounds, family dynamics, learning disabilities, and special needs children.

I have a degree in Psychology with a minor in Social Science. I have had my substitute teacher’s license, and am lead teacher certified in the state of Colorado. I am a mother of an amazing son, who I am so proud of each and every day. He is my everything and motherhood is my greatest accomplishment. I am so thrilled to be able to own this wonderful school, and am so excited to welcome your children to the Meadowlark family.

Miss Alex

I have always wanted to help children learn and grow in a positive learning enviornment. I am so honored to be part of their learning experience. I have a BA in Liberal Studies from California State University-Monterey Bay. I am lead teacher qualified in the state of Colorado, and enjoyed my time working as a nanny for 14 years. I love taking care of children. My husband and I are both from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. We lived here in Boulder for college, moved to California for work, then after having our first child, decided to return to Boulder. We now live here in south Boulder with our two wonderful children, Isabel 10, Zachary 9, and our dog Max. We absolutely love being a part of this caring and welcoming community. As a parent and a teacher, I am committed to providing quality care by using patience, understanding, reponsibility, education and play as ways to nurture children’s individual growth.

I have always worked with, or for children in various roles throughout my career. I have a BS in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Buckinghamshire in the UK. After graduating I went on to work for various non-profit organizations working with children in Africa, Asia and Europe. In 2004 I moved to LA to work with a non-profit organization that had a focus in the field of Human Trafficking. From 2010-2016, I specialized in Child Trafficking and Exploitation with a focus on children in Cambodia, the Philippines and the U.S. I was part of a team that developed a curriculum for the prevention of Child Trafficking which is now implemented in settings throughout the US.

After having my own children, and my firstborn attending Meadowlark, I have loved getting to know and working with children individually at the school. Now with my second son attending Meadowlark, I enjoy seeing the uniqueness in the way children learn and grow. I whole heartedly believe in the philosophy of Meadowlark in encouraging the children to be kind, compassionate and believe they can make a huge difference.

MISS YVONNE

I have lived in Boulder for almost 5 years with my husband, Ryan and our 3 amazing children. We love traveling, reading, hiking, skiing, and finding new restaurants together.

We love this community and I’m so happy to be joining the phenomenal Meadowlark team.

I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught first and second grade and a reading intervention program (Reading Recovery) for 5 years in Cambridge, MA. While teaching in Cambridge, I received my master’s degree in Literacy Education from Cambridge College. My husband and I then moved to Chicago, IL where I become a reading interventionist for K-5 in Evanston, IL.

My passion is teaching children to read. I am excited for this new chapter to work with preschoolers and give them the foundation they need to be successful readers and writers. I believe that the literacy process begins at birth and it’s our job as preschool teachers to provide literacy rich experiences through oral language, play, books, storytelling, songs, and writing.

I am so looking forward to being your child’s teacher and helping them learn and grow this school year!
